Autumn Bucket List

It’s official, autumn is here! Well okay, technically it’s "almost" here but in my heart it’s already autumn! Woohoo! So to kickstart my favourite season of the year, I thought I’d share my autumn bucket list which is full of things I’d like to do before winter arrives.

Autumn leaves

Try a Pumpkin Spice Latte

Yes, I’m that girl who swears she loves everything about autumn and yet has never had a pumpkin spice latte. I’ve lived a blissfully ignorant life as I went on ordering peppermint mochas all year round but no more, this year I’m going to jump out of my comfort zone and order that pumpkin spice latte.

Family Days Out x 2

Since we’ve got a lot on our plates this season, this one might not actually work out due to time and budget restraints but I’d love to see us go on two family days out in autumn. We’re already heading to Chessington World of Adventures for a short break so there will be at least one adventure in store for us but can we squeeze in one more? I hope so!

Get Married

Okay, so this one is happening but since it’s a massive life moment and one that I’m hoping will never feature on one of my bucket lists again, I decided that it made the final cut. It is an autumn themed wedding after all.

Watch Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus has been one of my all time favourite movies for as long as I can remember and traditionally I’d make a point of watching it every year around Halloween. That was until Halloween 2016 when we watched it at the same time as I was miscarrying our second pregnancy. I haven’t been able to watch it since. I like to think that I’m in a much better place now and I’ve made peace with my grief so I’d like to resume my annual Hocus Pocus tradition this year because I do love it so so much.

Read ALL of the books on my Autumn TBR Pile

I’ve got a selection of spooky and/or creepy-ish reads ready to go that I’ve been saving for this season and I’m hoping that I’ll find the time to read them all with everything else that's going on.

Disneybound for Halloween

If you've never heard of disneybounding, it's essentially a more subtle way to dress up as a character - using clothing rather than a costume and it has fascinated me for years now. It’s a very popular trend across the Disney community and indeed in the parks where adults are not allowed to wear fancy dress except for certain special events. But it’s one of those things that I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to actually pull off myself so naturally I’m setting out to prove myself wrong by challenging myself to disneybound for Halloween. I have no idea who or what I’ll end up being but it’s a very exciting bucket list item, that’s for sure.

Buy a New Coat

After three years of use, I think it's finally time to bid a fond farewell to my beloved Jojo Maman Bébé maternity coat. It has been a trusty companion largely due to the fact that it feels like wearing a duvet. It's so warm and inviting. But alas it’s time for me to move onto a coat in a more flattering style, colour and size. I’m just hoping that I don’t have to compromise on warmth too much because this mama needs to be warm and cosy or she turns into an ice queen.

Wear my Blanket Scarves

I adore blanket scarves. I only own two which demonstrates my self-control but if I could, I would own dozens of them. More than just a fashion accessory, I would argue that the blanket scarf is a happy place. In fact one of my old blog’s taglines was “happiness is a warm blanket scarf, Charlie Brown” which is a Peanuts pun. I can’t wait to finally wear one of my scarves this autumn!

Watch What We Do In The Shadows

I watched the movie a few years back on the recommendation of a colleague and I found myself absolutely loving it so I was more than a little excited that the BBC were bringing a TV show to us. It's been out for a few months now but I just haven't found the time to watch yet earning it a seat on my autumn bucket list obviously!

To follow me and my little family as we tick items off my autumn bucket list, make sure you’re following us on Instagram. and don’t forget to keep an eye on the stories!
