June Review + July Goals

Hello July! A new month means a fresh opportunity to set goals and work towards achieving them. Last month I decided to start sharing my monthly goals and here I am again, ready to reflect on last month's goals and set myself some brand new ones.

Last Month's Goals

☆ More lifestyle posts

I think the move into lifestyle blogging is going well so I guess I've achieved this one?

☆ 3-4 posts per week

Most of my time this month went on rebranding rather than pushing out new content so I fell short on this target.

Despite not posting for the majority of June, I still managed to share ten posts which isn't a terrible achievement. I'm going to consider it a win.

Here's a snapshot of June's posts here on Thrice Upon a Dream:

☆ Learn more about SEO

I loved doing this - it's been ages since I sat down and spent time learning because I wanted to.

The Beginner's Guide to SEO on the Moz website was an absolute godsend and I recommend it to anyone who also wants to understand SEO more.

I decided to start implementing what I'd learnt immediately and focused on auditing my older content to improve both its SEO and quality in general. This is still a work in progress but hey, what isn't?

☆ Pinterest

When I set this goal, I had absolutely no idea how best to manage my Pinterest account. I had only one monthly unique viewer. One. Single. Viewer.

At the time of writing this post, that figure had jumped to 3k.

I've still got a lot to learn but I think it's brilliant that I've already seen growth just by being active on Pinterest most days.

☆ Lose half a stone

Although I didn't manage to lose my target, I did lose 1lb which is still a loss.

☆ Spend more time playing with Mini

This is still an area that needs improvement if I'm being honest. I've definitely spent a little bit more time with him this month but nowhere near enough time.

To resolve this I've decided to set blogging hours so I'll only do around three hours a day, Monday to Friday. The rest of the time will be mine to enjoy with my lovely family.

☆ Walk 5000 steps a day

Out of the 18 days that I actually tracked my steps on my Fitbit, I averaged 3404 steps per day.

It's not an awful result and it's definitely more than I was reaching before setting this goal but I'd like to see an improvement on this next month.

This Month's Goals

☆ Comment on other people's blogs regularly

Sometimes I'll read a post and honestly I'll want to leave a comment but just panic and leave instead. So this is something I want to get into the habit of doing so it doesn't feel scary anymore.

☆ Improve Instagram and Pinterest

Last month I really neglected my Instagram account because it was a low priority so I desperately need to get back into the swing of things.

I'd also like to continue to improve my Pinterest so I'll be looking into ways to do this and hopefully see further growth!

☆ Spend more time with Mini (and establish a work-life balance!)

I've already mentioned this above but basically I'm going to manage my time better by limiting how much time I spend working on the blog each week.

☆ Walk 5000 steps a day

Since I didn't hit this target last month, I'd like to give it another go. This time I'll remember to wear my fitbit for all thirty-one days. Promise.

Quote of the Month

I thought it would be nice to start including a motivational quote each month so this month I've chosen to feature this one from Walt Disney. This quote actually inspired me to start this blog so it really means a lot to me.

Although, I'm still unsure how to use it to benefit my blog! Best of luck with your July goals, I hope you have an incredible month! x
