In Defence of Childless Millennials at Disney

Over the last week or so, an old viral Facebook post resurfaced and attracted a significant amount of media attention with many news outlets jumping on the bandwagon to offer up their opinion. Since I do blog about Disney a fair amount anyway, I decided to share my own opinion on the whole child-free at Disney debate.

Stress-Free Guide to Festive Planning

Say the word 'Christmas' outside of December and it really divides people. In fact, a few weeks back I started talking about Christmas on my Twitter account and I lost a dozen followers in the same hour. Coincidence? I don't think so. But to hell with the naysayers and Scrooges of the world, I love Christmas and I'm going to talk about it right now.

The Labyrinth of the Spirits by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

I've been fairly busy recently but don't think that I've been neglecting my summer reading challenge because that is far from the truth. In fact, I'm actually building up a bit of a backlog of books to review.

This one, The Labyrinth of the Spirits by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, was especially meaningful for me. I have absolutely adored the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series, and everything else that Carlos Ruiz Zafón has put out, since I first read The Shadow of the Wind a few years back. As the final chapter in the series, this was always going to be a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me and I was definitely not disappointed.

Meeting Elsa and Olaf in Branksome?!

It's been such a busy week filled with emoji cupcakes and teddy bear picnics that I haven't had a chance yet to share last weekend's mini adventure with you all! Carry on reading to find out how a short walk to the post office wound up being a mini adventure to see Mini's favourite Disney princess, Elsa!

Stationery Haul: May + June 2019

A few years back, you might have described me as a stationery hoarder or addict. If it was stationery and it was cute, I had to have it. I couldn't go past a Paperchase store without venturing into its warm welcoming arms. But somewhere along the way, I became a pro at resisting the temptation and even waved goodbye to my collection of novelty sticky notes.

Then I started blogging and if you create content for the internet, you probably already know that for something that requires no paper, you sure go through a lot of it. Notebooks have become my vice purely because I fill them with ideas and notes faster than I can clear through our laundry basket. It helps me stay relatively organised amidst the chaos of blogging while also taking care of my toddler. So today I'm going to share with you, the newest additions to my stationery collection!

Emoji Cupcakes for World Emoji Day

Did you know that the emoji is almost 22 years old? I had no idea! Obviously we haven't been blessed with the emoji for twenty odd years but it existed and has grown into the phenomenon that we use in our everyday lives. If that isn't incentive to keep going, I don't know what is. I mean if a yellow smiley face can achieve such great things then why can't we all?

Today is World Emoji Day. Why, you ask? Well it's all to do with that date on the calendar emojis on Apple devices. You might not have ever noticed (I certainly haven't) but that date is July 17th! So every July 17th, we now celebrate the wonderful world of emojis!

The Teddy Bear Picnic

Last Wednesday was *drum roll* Teddy Bear Picnic Day and since we were all at home together, we'd planned to take full advantage of the festivities and throw a spectacular indoor picnic for Mini and his soft toy pals.

Premier Inn London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 Review

You might recall that the three of us spent the last bank holiday weekend in London visiting our families. As Heathrow is roughly halfway between Matt's family and my own, it made sense for us to base ourselves there and so we opted to stay at the Premier Inn London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 which is essentially part of the airport itself.

I'd hoped to do a little video to accompany this post because I love room tour videos but it turns out it's not that easy to do with a toddler in tow. So today I'll be sharing our experience of staying at the Premier Inn London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 with you.

Why We Chose To Find Out The Sex Of Our Baby

2 years ago, Matt and I were heading to our local hospital for our 20 week scan. It was a very important day for us because we were hopefully going to find out whether we were expecting a boy or a girl. Finding out the sex was really important to me and so I'd like to talk about why we chose to find out.

10 Sitcoms That I Love

Today is July 10th which means that it's not only teddy bear picnic day but it's also time to share a brand new monthly segment with you all: a list of 10 things on the 10th! These can be top 10 lists, round-ups and more so be on the lookout for those every month. To kick it off, I've chosen to talk about 10 sitcoms that I love watching because we all need a bit of a giggle sometimes and watching sitcoms is a really easy way to practise self-care.

Disney Bargain Hunting in Poole

Since Matt was lucky enough to have some annual leave booked this Monday, we decided to take full advantage and planned a little shopping day in Poole. It was a fairly hot day, to the point that we found it unbearable, but there's just something special about a coastal breeze in the sunshine so... we can't complain really. Here's what we got up to...

Our Wedding: 4 Months To Go!

I've got a huge confession to make: up until recently, I was a bit of a 'bridechilla'. I took a very laid-back approach to wedding planning. But alas, that's starting to change because our wedding is suddenly only four months away! Eek!

Since I've not shared anything about our wedding yet, I thought that I'd do a little post to share what we've got sorted and talk about the million and one things we've got left on our wedding to-do list.

June Review + July Goals

Hello July! A new month means a fresh opportunity to set goals and work towards achieving them. Last month I decided to start sharing my monthly goals and here I am again, ready to reflect on last month's goals and set myself some brand new ones.

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell

Summer is well and truly underway as is my summer reading challenge! The third book I finished was... A Whole New World by Liz Braswell!

As is the case with 99% of the books I own, I actually bought this years ago and have let it lay dormant ever since. But no longer because I have finally finished reading it and with that, I present to you: my book review of A Whole New World.

We Bought a Pirate Ship!

Every pay day, we each get a little something that we want. For Matt, it was a Raspberry Pi. For me, a pair of maternity skinny jeans. (I'm not pregnant but maternity clothing is the most comfortable for handling those endometriosis flare ups!) Oh, and we bought Mini a pirate ship.
