We're Going Away!

You read that right! We're currently on the road embarking on a little adventure to Cambridgeshire where we'll be spending a few days with family. It's been pretty chaotic to say the least!

I doubt it'll come as a surprise but the biggest cause of my stress at the moment is packing. I've always hated it but so much more now that we're a family of three.

If you’ve never been away with a baby or toddler, let me tell you - they need so much stuff. Literally anything that gets used on a daily basis or more often? It’s automatically an essential that needs to be packed. If you have been away with a baby or toddler then you have my sympathies because packing is a nightmare.

Since we’ve known for a long time that we were going on this trip, I’ve been asking Matt to get the suitcase out of the cupboard for weeks. When did I finally see it? The night before we were due to travel. Obviously.

It goes without saying that we spent most of the morning running around like headless chickens to make sure we’ve packed everything even though Mini is still actively using all of his bits. Let’s just hope we remembered everything!

As there was no viable way for us to take the guinea pigs with us on our cross country adventure, we booked them into our local guinea pig hotel - the Castle Garth in Bournemouth.

The girls have stayed here before and seem to absolutely adore the owner, Donna, which shows just how much love and care they get during their stay at Castle Garth. If you’re local to Bournemouth and have guinea pigs, then I highly recommend their services if you’re going away for a few days.

I must admit that I teared up a bit once they’d left. I’d like to think that other pet owners understand that feeling that a home just feels empty without their furry companions. They might be small but they take up a lot of space in our hearts - and our home for that matter!

Since it's a long journey from Bournemouth to Cambridgeshire, we've just stopped off at Oxford services for some dinner. The boys obviously had to have their picture taken with Pudsey while we were here!

Keep an eye out for an update on our trip in a few days time but if you can't wait that long, make sure you give me a quick follow on Twitter for updates in real time!
