We've Moved to Wonder and Grey!

Hey lovely! It’s been a while so I just wanted to drop in and let you know what’s going on. You might already know but in January, I decided to start over with my blog. And I’m pleased to tell you that I have now launched my new blog: Wonder and Grey.

When I breathed Thrice Upon a Dream into existence, I had every intention of becoming a Disney blogger. As it turned out, that didn’t feel authentic to me. So I started talking more about my family life and general lifestyle stuff and I discovered that that’s where my passion lay - in family and lifestyle. Still, no matter what I tried, it always felt like the pieces didn’t fit together right.

So when I had a sudden urge to start a new blog, I knew that I had to listen to my gut. Was it scary to start over? Yes, absolutely. But I’m so proud of what I've achieved over the last two months.

Before you go, I want to let you know about the message and reasoning behind Wonder and Grey.

You see, I have spent the last few years feeling guilty that my life didn't look a certain way. My endometriosis was a hurricane - leaving nothing but chaos and mess, constantly changing the rules of the game. So I'm on a journey to change my mindset and I'm going to be doing that by embracing (and sharing) the wonder AND the grey in my life because life isn't just the good stuff.

In a world fuelled by social media, likes and follower counts it's all too easy to convince yourself that other people have these great lives without any pain or suffering. And since comparison is the thief of joy, we all fall prey to it. We compare our lives whether we intend to or not.

I'm guilty of this myself. I don't compare my achievements as a still relatively new blogger to someone with years of experience under their belt but I do compare my life with a chronic illness to those without. I don't mean to but it happens. And when it happens I feel guilt and shame and like my life isn't good enough.

So I wanted a space, that is essentially part-blog part-journal, where I could talk openly about the good stuff and the bad. To share the realities of living, parenting and travelling with chronic illness fluidly, within each and every post.

And well...that’s where I’m at so far! If this has piqued your interest, I hope that you’ll stop by at Wonder and Grey to see what me and my family have been up to but if this is goodbye, thank you for being part of the Thrice Upon a Dream story! It’s been a real pleasure.
